Penwith Film Society has a long and dizzy history of screening the best of world cinema, from our beginning back in the olden days under the inspired leadership of Robin Kewell showing films in the Acorn to the current committee, with so many amazing helpers along the way, too many to mention. And as well as the Acorn we have been hosted so kindly by Newlyn Filmhouse and of course Merlin Cinemas in Penzance.
Here's a list as far as we have records going back, in order of screening date. You can see the benefit of so many different curatorial voices coming together to create such a beautifully diverse range of films. From obscure(ish) artfilms to the canonical masterpieces of European and World cinema, from the far North to the deep South, we've covered a fair bit of ground.
